It was a rare treat to have access to the Master Villa at Baoase Luxury Resort in Curacao. To top it off, I had the opportunity to receive a personal tour from Ad van der Valk and his partner Bibi's quiet retreat at their resort. Despite the fact that the Master Villa is large, it is (deliberately) hardly visible from the rest of the resort.

Baoase Resort is a home away from home for Ad and Bibi and they spend much of their time at Baoase, which they lovingly built from the ground up. Ad spoke of how each stone in his pool was placed by him personally and Bibi spoke of her inspirations when decorating their Master Villa and the rest of the resort. The result is spectacular on all fronts. From a ‘luxury cave’ in the pool, to a modern kitchen that can be stocked prior to arrival, this is an oasis within an oasis!

You’ll love the decor in the Master Villa!!

All of the decor throughout the Master Villa (and the resort) is well thought out. I loved the Balinese inspired items and you can tell Ad and Bibi carefully picked each piece.

My personal thoughts…

- The Master Villa’s private pool overlooking the main grounds of Baoase is stunning... it also has a ‘luxury cave’ in the pool for the ultimate romantic setting.
- This is outside living at it's best. The whole lower floor main living room was open for a seamless transition to the outdoor sundeck.
- It's easy to see why you'd have no reason to ever leave the villa during your stay! However, I often saw Ad and Bibi dining with guests and walking around their resort. Their pride in what they've created is evident and it's nothing short of spectacular.
- I love that the Master Villa can be just for two people or connecting suites can be reserved to accommodate a large family or multiple families. Perfect for a multi-generational luxury vacation.
