I have been to both. Beaches Turks & Caicos is the resort I compare everything else to. Then I visited Beaches Negril and found it is a completely different experience that is genuinely perfect for the right traveler. After sending hundreds of families and couples to both properties, here is the honest comparison only someone who has stood on both beaches can give you.

Getting There: The First Real Difference
Beaches Turks & Caicos
Sits about 20 minutes from the Providenciales airport. You clear customs, grab your bags, and you are at the resort. Non-stop options from the East Coast exist, but flight choices are fewer than Jamaica overall.
Beaches Negril
Is an easy non-stop flight from many East Coast airports into Montego Bay. The catch is the transfer from Montego Bay to Negril is about 2 to 2.5 hours door to door. Beaches runs their own airport lounge in Montego Bay to make the wait comfortable, and many guests enjoy the drive as an island tour.
INSIDER TIP
I typically recommend Beaches Negril for families staying 5 or more nights. The transfer time makes shorter stays a tough value. Beaches TCI is more flexible for 4 or 5 night trips since you lose almost nothing on arrival.
The Beach: Not Even in the Same Category
Beaches Turks & Caicos
Grace Bay Beach at Beaches TCI was ranked the number one beach in the world by TripAdvisor Travelers. The water is a shade of turquoise that does not look real until you are standing in it. I took a catamaran excursion to a nearby uninhabited island during my visit and stood on a stretch of sand that most people will never see.
Beaches Negril
Sits on Seven Mile Beach, genuinely one of Jamaica's most beautiful stretches of coastline. Soft sand, warm water, and a classic Caribbean atmosphere. It is a great beach. But if Grace Bay is in someone's head, Seven Mile Beach is a different level.
✨ INSIDER TIP
At Beaches TCI, the water stays very shallow far from shore. This is a big deal for families with toddlers or nervous swimmers. You can walk out a long way and still be knee-deep. Keep this in mind when choosing if you have very young kids.
Water Sports and Scuba: A Clear Winner
Both resorts include non-motorized water sports and unlimited scuba diving for certified divers, which is one of the best inclusions in any all-inclusive program. Both have snorkeling. That is where the comparison ends.
Beaches Turks & Caicos
The reef off Grace Bay is alive and accessible right from the beach. You can snorkel out from shore and find sea turtles, stingrays, and a full coral reef without booking an excursion. There is also a PADI dive center on property. Certified divers can reach the third-largest barrier reef in the world with a short boat ride.
Beaches Negril
The snorkeling is enjoyable and diving is included, but the on-site marine life does not compare. The best snorkeling typically requires an off-property trip.
Families and Kids: Both Are Great, But for Different Groups
Both resorts are official Sesame Street resort partners with daily character meet-and-greets and evening shows. For young kids in that phase, it is genuinely magical at either resort.
Beaches Turks & Caicos
The Pirates Island Waterpark is 45,000 square feet with nine slides, a lazy river, a surf simulator, and a swim-up kids pool bar. There is also an Xbox lounge for teens, an adults-only pool, and kids programming from ages 0 to 17. That last part matters: your teenager has somewhere to actually go instead of tagging along with younger siblings all week.
Beaches Negril
Beaches Negril has a water park, kids club, teens club, Xbox lounge, and full Sesame Street programming. The difference is scale. The resort is more compact and far easier to navigate. If you have younger kids only and a massive resort feels like too much, Negril delivers the full Beaches experience without the complexity.
✨ INSIDER TIP
At either resort, book the Sesame Street character breakfast as soon as your reservation is confirmed. It fills up fast and walk-ins are rare. This is the first thing I tell every client the moment they lock in their dates.
Dining: More Options at TCI, Great Quality at Both
Beaches Turks & Caicos
Has more than 20 specialty restaurants plus food trucks, covering Indian, Italian, Parisian, Southwestern, Mediterranean, teppanyaki, sushi, Caribbean, British pub, and American diner. There is something for every palate every night of the week.
Beaches Negril
Has 13 restaurants, a step up from what many people expect. Highlights include Kimonos teppanyaki, Yaku for Peruvian cuisine, Soy sushi bar, and El Mariachi for Mexican. The Jamaica-inspired dishes throughout the property are a standout.
✨ INSIDER TIP
Both resorts have a Kimonos teppanyaki restaurant that requires a reservation. At either property, book it for your first or second night before it fills up. At Beaches Negril, Yaku (Peruvian) also requires a reservation and is one of the most talked-about restaurants in the entire Beaches brand. Do not leave without eating there.

Is where couples go when the setting is the statement. Grace Bay as a ceremony backdrop is hard to beat. The resort has beachfront ceremony spaces, gazebos, and ballroom options that can host larger groups. It works well for full bridal parties with sizable guest lists.
Beaches Negril
Draws couples who want something more intimate. The resort's smaller scale creates a feeling of privacy that TCI simply cannot replicate. If you want guests to feel like they have the whole place, Negril delivers that naturally.
