I recently returned from my first visit to Sandals Royal Curaçao, and I have to say it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, I could tell this resort was something special. I know a substantial amount of money was put into the existing property and with the updates, it felt cohesive. So often, I see properties change ownership and it feels "pieced" together. I wouldn't have known it was owned by a different company previously. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous!! From the spacious lawn areas to hidden nooks with hammocks, there were tons of different spaces to explore.

OVERVIEW

Sandals Royal Curacao is such a stunning spot that I can’t wait for my clients to experience. The beach had soft sand, clear water, and plenty of seating, making it easy to unwind without the usual scramble for a chair. While it isn't a long, walkable beach for miles, there is plenty of sand for everyone to find their spot and enjoy! And of course, the infinity pool deserves a mention. It’s as beautiful in person as it looks in the photos, especially at sunset. The swim-up bar at the end of the infinity pool was for sure the place to be! However, I also enjoyed the quiet pool and highly recommend renting a cabana for a full day. At only $150 a day, you'll have dedicated service, a cooler packed with your favorite drinks, food brought to the cabana, and a bottle of champagne.

Prior to visiting this resort, Sandals Grenada was my favorite, but I have to say, this one is my new favorite! I am so glad I finally made it here, as it was even better than I expected and I know I'll be sending my clients here to experience this unique spot. I personally would go back for another stay, and for me to say that (where I don't always love to go back to the same resort multiple times), that tells you how much I loved it!

Sandals Royal Curacao has luxury amenities like king sized beds, large Smart TVs, luxury bathrooms with a walk in shower, premium beverages in a stocked fridge, and more! What truly made my stay was the balcony overlooking the spectacular, crystal-clear water. If you're considering a trip, an oceanfront suite is definitely worth it; the views alone are reason enough!

DINING & DRINKS

With so many dining options, one of the highlights for me was the food truck courtyard. Sandals/ Beaches began this concept a few years ago, but this execution felt more thoughtful and intentional in regards to where the food trucks were located on the property. The courtyard area that surrounded the food trucks was great to sit and snack at while listening to Caribbean music. They even have a bar by the food trucks so you can grab a fun beverage right there! Each truck offered something a little different, and it was the perfect place to grab a quick bite between time at the pool or beach. Casual, creative, and genuinely enjoyable.

Another twist on the standard for Sandals was the coffee shop, which also serves wine and cheese!! It became a daily ritual: coffee and desserts during the day or after dinner and a snack of cheese as my pre-dinner treat. They have also incorporated some local snacks to the island (Dutch owned) such as poffertjes (a fluffy mini sized pancake with powdered sugar) which you could pick your toppings! And a first for me... a waffle on a stick! These little details of bringing local flavors and cuisines and incorporating them through the resort really stood out to me as a winning and thoughtful execution by the food and beverage team at Sandals.

Love crispy bacon? You’re in luck—they’ve mastered it here. And don’t miss the French toast at the Mediterranean restaurant one morning. It’s a must!
Book a cabana for at least two days. At $150 per day, it’s absolutely worth it for the comfort, shade, and service.
Keep an eye on the daily activities screen. This resort offers a ton of events, and the evening vibe is livelier than what I’ve experienced at other Sandals locations.
Stop by the coffee shop for poffertjes—and trust me, ask for extra caramel sauce. You’ll thank me later!
Room categories are plentiful here. There are so many incredible options that it can be overwhelming. Reach out—I’ve seen them all and have a few personal favorites I can recommend based on what matters most to you.
Plan for at least 5 nights. I usually start feeling ready to leave after a few days, but here? You’ll want the time. With so many dining options alone, you’ll want the chance to try as much as possible.
Take a bike ride around the resort. I love that bikes are stationed throughout the property for easy grab-and-go exploration. I first saw this at Sandals St. Vincent, and I’m so happy they offer it here too.
Rent a car for a day or two to explore the island at your own pace. Willemstad is a bit of a drive, but there's a car rental facility right on-site—super convenient and worth it!
