Ask the experts - Most Adventurous Experience

Our advisors love to travel and see new places, but they also aren’t afraid to do something out of the ordinary! This month we asked our team, “What’s the most adventurous thing you have done while traveling?”. Check out their answers!

Exumas, Bahamas

“This is an easy one for me; swimming with nurse sharks in the Exumas (Bahamas)! I can't say swimming with sharks was on my bucket list, but I had seen pictures of others doing it in the Exumas and I wanted to replicate the pictures I had seen. Frankly, now that I've done it, once is enough! I was beyond nervous but I was determined to get pictures with them.

While they are gentle and not aggressive, I did witness a a girl who I think went to touch one of them get her finger bitten. It's a good thing I was already out of the water... a bleeding finger and sharks is not the best situation! Needless to say, they pulled her out of the water very quickly. I was proud of myself for not chickening out. I probably won't do anything more adventurous again in my lifetime, but who knows... never say never.”

Costa Rica

“I've done so many adventurous things because I'm willing to try anything! I've gone skydiving, zip lining, white water rafting, bungee jumping and swimming with sharks. So when we decided to go to Costa Rica, I thought why not try canyon repelling! After gearing up, we went through the shortest safety presentation I've ever heard and off we went.

The first repel was down the longest canyon - about 400 feet next to a waterfall. I looked over the canyon in this beautiful jungle, took a deep breath, and jumped off the side. It was an incredible ride, especially as I was weaving in and out of the waterfall! I landed in a pool of water feeling exhilarated at having tried something new! I went through four more canyons and waterfalls ending the day exhausted but so excited. I can't wait for my next adventure!”

St. Lucia

“The most adventurous thing I have done on vacation was to book a private helicopter ride and tour of St. Lucia. It was awesome! Our resort we stayed at was beautiful, but a good distance from the airport.

We decided to charter this helicopter to take us on a scenic tour and then deliver us to the airport for our flight home. A great solution to wanting to see even more of the island as well as avoid a long transfer!”

Interlaken, Switzerland

“If you’re looking for a place with amazing views of the Alps, beautiful lakes with turquoise water, and tons of adventure, then you need to go to Interlaken, Switzerland! I spent a summer backpacking Europe with a friend and we planned to spend one night in Interlaken. After arriving, we quickly realized how amazing Interlaken is and ended up staying there for four days.

During our time there, we went white water rafting, hiking to see a glacier, and canyoning through the forests. Canyoning was like nothing I had ever done before. We spent the day jumping, sliding, and rappelling down rocks and waterfalls. It was an incredible experience that I’ll never forget.”
